Singaporean Chilli Crab Pizza with Mantou Crust
Ingredients:
For the Mantou Crust:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp yeast
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup warm water
1 tbsp vegetable oil
For the Toppings:
1 cup crab meat (preferably fresh)
1/2 cup chilli crab sauce (you can find this pre-made or make it from scratch)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1/4 cup spring onions, chopped
1 egg, for egg wash (optional)
For Garnish:
Fresh cilantro
A squeeze of lime
Instructions:
Prepare the Mantou Crust:
Mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
Gradually add warm water and oil, mixing until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 5 minutes.
Let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Punch down the dough, then stretch and flatten to form a pizza base.
Assemble the Pizza:
Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
Spread chilli crab sauce evenly over the crust.
Top with crab meat, bell pepper slices, and mozzarella cheese.
Brush the crust edges with egg wash for a golden finish (optional).
Bake the Pizza:
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
Final Touches:
Garnish with spring onions, fresh cilantro, and a squeeze of lime.
Serve:
