Banana Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated. Add the mashed bananas and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, slice and serve. Enjoy the moist and delicious banana cake!
Note: Feel free to add frosting or a dusting of powdered sugar on top for extra sweetness, if desired.
