The Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre: An Intimate Thrust Stage Experience

Innovative Design Inspired by Shakespearean Traditions

At the heart of Wild Rice is The Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre, a 358-seat venue featuring Singapore’s only thrust stage. This design, inspired by the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Swan Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon, brings audiences closer to the performance, ensuring no seat is more than 12 meters from the action. The theatre’s unique configuration fosters an immersive and intimate connection between performers and spectators, enhancing the overall theatrical experience.

Marking a Milestone with a Stellar Line-Up

As Wild Rice commemorates its 25th anniversary, the theatre has curated a series of compelling productions for 2025. Highlights include “Red Riding Hood” (6 – 16 Mar), a fresh take on the classic tale; “Supervision” (27 Mar – 12 Apr), a poignant exploration of family dynamics; and “Tunggu Sekejap: The P. Ramlee Suite” (15 – 31 May), a musical tribute to the legendary artist. These performances, among others, showcase the diverse and dynamic nature of Singaporean theatre.
