Colonial Charm Meets Comfort Food: Tanglin Cookhouse Lands at PLQ 3

July 23, 2026

Craving classic comfort food in a colonial-style setting? Tanglin Cookhouse has brought its East-meets-West British-Singaporean menu to PLQ 3, giving Paya Lebar Quarter a lush, wicker-chaired dining room for everything from breakfast to late dinner.

British-Singaporean Comfort in a Colonial-Style Setting

Tanglin Cookhouse draws on Singapore’s culinary history since the early 1950s, when British cuisine began blending with local flavours to create something distinctly its own. The result is a menu of “East-meets-West” dishes served in a lush, British colonial-style setting, where old-charm furnishings meet new opulence for a look that feels both nostalgic and current.

The restaurant is run by Creative Eateries Pte Ltd, and its PLQ 3 outlet joins an existing location at Tanglin Mall as the brand’s second address in Singapore. Both restaurants share the same comforting, East-meets-West positioning, though each has its own dedicated menu tailored to its neighbourhood.

A New Address for Tanglin Cookhouse at PLQ 3

The PLQ 3 outlet is a newly opened addition to the Tanglin Cookhouse family, offering both indoor and al fresco dining spaces suited to small catch-ups or larger group bookings. It is open every day for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, giving the surrounding business and residential precinct a reliable all-day dining option.

Beyond regular dining, the PLQ 3 outlet also features an exclusive space for event hosting, complete with AV presentation facilities, making it a practical venue for corporate luncheons or even kids’ birthday parties with bespoke party packages. A private dining room seating up to 10 guests at an elongated table lined with iconic wicker chairs is also available for those wanting a more intimate setting for special occasions.

From Mulligatawny Soup to Fish & Chips

The PLQ menu features classic British-Singaporean dishes such as Mulligatawny soup, a quintessential Anglo-Indian delicacy, alongside the Crispy Hainanese Kurobuta Pork Chop, the heartwarming Tanglin Pao Fan (Poached Rice), and a traditional classic English Fish & Chips. It is a menu built around comfort food with a nostalgic edge, whether you are after something rich and hearty or a lighter, brothy option.

To drink, Tanglin Cookhouse pours a lineup of speciality gin and tonics, including the Tanglin Classic with Brass Lion Gin, cucumber, and rosemary, and the Blue Lavender made with Brass Lion Butterfly Pea Gin, alongside fruit-forward options like Spiced Grapefruit and Berries Wonder.

Pro Tip: If you are visiting for a weekday lunch, ask about the 2-course set menu — it is a faster, better-value way to sample the kitchen without ordering off the full a-la-carte menu.
